Default RE: And the outfitter called this hunting........

Hunting tame deer that are coming to you wanting their daily feed is not hunting. It is simply an overpriced slaughter of meat for the freezer. I raise several steers for the freezer each year, and although I do not do the actual kill, it would be like the slaughter house charging me $7500 for doing it for me. 400 acres is plenty of land to do a hunt as long as the deer are wild and just a couple of hunters at a time. (it is not what I would do though) On the other hand, 10,000 acres, even high fenced would be ok with me. It would be no differant than going to a small island to do a hunt. It is surrounded by water and they can not escape.
Feeding- Many of the programs that we think so highly of on TNN, ODC, or OLN are hunts done in areas where the deer have been fed and it is known that they will return to recieve more feed. I watched one just the other day and they were using Buck Grub deer attractant and feed. When the big buck came up for his feed ,,,,,,,BLAM!!!!!

The best of luck in all your hunting endeavors!!!

God Bless,
Dave
