Are you guys only using the slip on kind or have you tried the kind that you have to replace the screws? Any info would be helpful. Jedi knight sorry for butting into your question, but i was wondering about recoil pads myself. i have a .300 win mag that i wanted to tame down. thanks.

Good question. I like to add Is there any performance difference between the slip on and the stock replacments? Also what does the whole "Grind to fit" mean?
fatsbucknut and jedi,
The limbsaver I use is the grind to fit, it comes with holes in it but they usually dont match up to the holes you have on your particular rifle, my particular gun was getting a new stock, so it didnt have any hole drilled into, my buddy need to have his original holes filled and new holes drilled. The other question, a slip on has about 4 or 5 inches of material that go over your stock kinda like a sock, IMO its not as atractive as the made to fit ones. Kelbro mentioned the decelerator pad also, I have heard that they are just as good as limbsavers , I just preferred to use the limbsaver brand because I use all their products on my bow.
