Like I said in another post I go with 1 pin but my yardages for hunting are limited by thick woods. If you hunt field edges or out west and expect long shots more pins the better. Where I hunt the better deer seem to stay back away from the fields until dark so I set up my tree stands between the bedding area and the food source. Great hunting but a long way ouit in the dark.
