No one won, no one lost. We are all Americans, not confederates or yankees.
The only problem I have with this logic is that if someone considers themself a confederate, rebel, or whatever they want to call themselves, how can we as a nation consider them Americans? They live on American soil, yes, but they're within a group that seceeded from the nation.
I've just been wondering about that since everyone on this forum likes to argue about this topic. How can someone who considers themself a confederate, or someone who left the union (nation) be considered an American?
