I've shot the Ballistic SilverTips out of my .30-06 forever and my .300WSM for the last 4 years and absolutely love 'em. I've shot deer as close as 20 yds and as far away as 367 yds and the results are always the same ---- dead deer, down now. I'd shoot the 140 gr out of your .270WSM for deer, if you hunt anything bigger, I'd go with the heavier load.
