My second comment about being suprised, was because usually someone chimes up and says (not saying they are not telling the truth) "All I hunt with is a 375 H&H." or "The 358 STA is the way to go for Sitka Blacktail." and "Recoil dosen't bother me at all."

As far as starting a battery or long guns, your right on. As we get older we can convince ourselves that we NEED that 6.5-284 or we NEED to rebarrel this and that.
