Yes, I scoped my Marlin 336 with a 4X scope mounted on the see-through rings. In my opinion scoping with the see-through rings was the best compromise for my hunting conditions. Although in all the years I've hunted with it I never once used the open sights to take a deer. I got quite a few using the scope in terrain that ranged from dense cedar swamps to hard woods and open fields.
