RE: .308 or .30-06
I think your choices in rifles is great I must admit the accuracy of the 308 is fantastic but if you are hunting bear and elk you might want to go with the 30 06 I have had a model 70 winchester for 15years and it has always done the job for me on moose bear and deer I usally use federal premium 180 noslers and they always work well even on longer shots.I hunt and live in the Kenora area of NorthWest Ontario and run my own outfiting bussiness and most hunters coming up here from the united states are using 7mm 30 06 or 300 even for whitetail.
