Default RE: Fall Planting/Update

We did some farming on a small scale until about 10 years ago. Since we still have a lot of the equipment. So I put in 2 acres of corn that I will leave standing. Then, 2 weeks ago, I planted an acre of winter wheat. That is up about 3". I'm hoping to be able to "keep" some deer on our property into the early winter.
We have a neat situation, but we don't take advantage of it very well. We have about 3 square miles of land. About half is wooded and the other half is fallow fields, well kept active fields, and poorly maintained active fields.
Our hunting practices are the main problem... we shoot only bucks and we don't care if it is a 3" spike or a 20" 10 point. No does. I'm trying to change that by example....some food plots, taking some does, and letting some young bucks walk.
We watched a 12" wide 10 point that I think was 1 1/2 get thrashed by a big doe last night with the spotlight. I said to my brother, "We neer to shoot that doe!".
