What works best in my rifles:
Ruger 10/22: 22LR - Federal Classic 38gr. HVHP (Fed.# 712)
Ruger 77/22T: 22WMR - Remington Premier 33gr. V-Max
- CCI Maxi-Mag 22WMR HP
Most cases, you just need to try out various makes/bullet weights, etc., and see what your rifle likes best.
