Nothing lasts forever, but I was at least hoping for a couple of more years!
The timber company that owns our hunting club is selling the land, and has decided that they don't want to lease out the land any more. We knew that the land was for sale, but their asking price seemed way too high. They have apparently found a buyer though. Their board of directors have informed us that even if this deal fails, they have others interested in the property, and will not be renewing our lease, regardless of the sale.
We have been hunting there for the last 4 years and have been able to limit out each season! Also, it was fairly close to home, had good access roads, a good camping area, plenty of game, and very good members that get along well together, and was cheap too (345.00 a year)! It is a 15 member club, of which myself and two other good friends are a part of. In the 4 years we have been there we have never had a single problem with anyone, and have never had anything stolen!
We will have to get our things off of the property by June. The only ray of hope that we have is if the new buyer is willing to lease the land to us!
Well, thats about it! I just had to share my misery with ya'll! In the mean time, I guess "it's on the road again!" Looking for a lease in East Tex!
