I dont think it really matters what you have as long as you are proficent with it, my neighbor uses a .223 handi rifle with a winchester 45 grn hollow point and he has never had to track one they have all dropped on the spot. I hunt with him every year, it is just a tool and if you know how to use it properly any center fire calibur will kill a white tail. JMHO Jimmy
