RE: New Omega. Scope help please?
Hello Katana,
Like you, I went for a laminated stainless .50 Omega this last fall. Great gun. As far as scopes go, choose what you're comfortable with. 1.5-6 to 3-9 power will work just fine. Depending on the range you expect to be shooting at, you might want to go with a shotgun/ML version instead. And considering what you paid for an Omega, go ahead and spend some good money on a nice scope. There's nothing worse than a good rifle with mediocre scope.
I found a Leupold VX-II 2-7x33 to be about perfect. Since I live in New Mexico, ranges can be long, so I got the regular rifle scope that is parallax adjusted for 150 yards. As you know, Leupolds have excellent eye relief, and I had to mount mine as far forward as possible on the T/C Weaver base. (No, I don't crawl the stock; I'm just rather lanky.) YMMV as far as mounting distance.
