I saw a guy bring a doe into the processors that he had shot with a 30-06 and a I believe it was a 125 or 110 gr bullet. The bullet hit the shoulder blade and blew up. Left a hole bigger than the hole in that deer's neck. Killed her on the spot, but the guy was kind of lucky. The damage was mostly surface damage.

If that deer in the above photo really was killed by a bullet, then I'd recommend a heavier bullet next time.
