I would have agreed with you until this last season. Our .270 shots have always left a clean 1 to 2 inch diameter exit hole through ribs. But my son shot a doe with his .270 at a similar angle and we had an exit that was about 2/3 the size of the one in this photo. It must have hit a freak combination of shoulder, rib, and fluid, and pushed it all through. I'm telling you we could not believe the hole.
This does not look like a bullet hole to me, but neither did the one I saw with my own eyes.
