The 30-30 is good for a 100 yds and thats it, it falls off the scale real quick after that.
An iron sighted .30-30 carbine, zeroed at 150 years will be 2" high at 100 yards and 5" low at 200 yards. I think you can quote factory ballistics ok, but haven't learned how to manipulate them for hunting conditions. A Lyman reloading manual might have an article that'll help you. They used to, anyway.
