Default RE: Is Poaching Okay???

I've read a lot of responses on here and it seems like its split right down the middle. people have said that feeding your family in hard times justifies poaching. others have said that poaching is poaching and either way you put it its breaking the law.

i agree with both sides DEPENDING on the situation. if your family is starving, truly starving, with nothing left to sell, then poach. go ahead and put food on the table. only if thats your last option though! but you'd have to be damn poor to have to need to poach for food. now im not in any way saying that poaching isn't against the law if you need food. poaching is still poaching and if you do it then you have to be prepared for the consequences. i dont know what i would do. but put in a situation where things could't in any way be worse and i was starving, then i'd go out and shoot a rabbit or squirrel. but thats if my friends cant do anything, i have nothing to sell, and i have no other option. i cant emphesize how extremely poor you'd have to be to need to poach and even then, how much do you think your gun could fetch? a good gun if not damaged in my opionion (depending on the gun) could get at least $200. thats for a larger rifle however. now i realize you cant do much with $200 but you could buy some food. after you use up the money, go out and poach your heart out. but if your caught then expect punishment.

I can see how poaching could be neccessary and yet against the law. im not trying to take a single side here but whats listed above is just my opinion.
