Based on my limited experience:

most vocal toms: rios and merriams
least vocal toms: easterns (I've only hunted south eastern ones)
most responsive to calls: rios then merriams (west is best for evoking gobbles)
least responsive to calls: easterns
most wandering: merriams
most predictable: rios
most thunderous gobble: easterns and osceolas
most ghostlike gobble: merriams
best spurs: osceolas
worst spurs and beards: merriams
most mosquitos and gators: osceolas
