Default RE: whats your choke and load on an 870?

In my 21" barreled 870, I tried a .655 Kick's gobblin' thunder. It performed very well last year with winchester hv's, 3" #5 shot. Even the #4 did very good out to 40 yards. And when I bought my new 11-87, also with a 21" barrel right before the pa season started, the same choke did the same job.

I tried the remington hevi shot in several chokes, and even though it threw a nice pattern, the center of the pattern was never in the same area of the target. They just weren't consistent enough my guns, no matter what the choke. Now the winchester, the center of the pattern hits where I aim every time.

The Nitro performed well in my 870 with a remington ventilator choke also. I used the economy loads for one season(2 years ago) and they did very well.

My combo with the Kicks's is my favorite and most consistent. It's cheap ammo, and I can find it anywhere.
