Silver GSP
I own 3 different collars and I will give you the short story on them. The first collar I purchased about 6 years ago which is an Innotek TT-100A. This is Innotek's Beeper/Trainer combo for 1 dog. I trained my britt. with it and the collar worked well until the battery got low. On occasion when the battery was low the collar would go off on its own. Obviously not a good thing when you are training. Overall the collar has served me well but the transmitter is junk IMO. Not built very tough for the field. Will run you about 200-250 depending on where you get it.
Collar #2 I again purchased an Innotek for my Deutsch Drahthaar (GWP) It is Innotek's top of the line model Command Series 16000 Track and Train. The main reason I purchased this collar is that I could run both of my collars off of 1 transmitter. It has more stimulation level options than the first collar but it caused me a ton of trouble. The original collar crapped out because when the dog scratch his neck he would shred the collar. The second collar would start stimulating the dog if I pushed the button or not. To boot I didn't know it was stimulating the dog because the light on the collar didn't indicate that it was. This set me back about a month in my training but we were able to make it through. I also had other problems with sycronization that I wont go into. Bottom line. After 5, yes 5 exchanges with innotek I have a working collar. (great customer service)
During one of those exchanges I went out and purchased a tri-tronics upland special. I love this collar. It has easy changing stimulation levels especially at the low end where I used it to force break for retriving. Both the beeper and the stimulation box are removable. I did like the beeper features on the Innotek better than the tri-tronics but it serves its purpose come hunting season. Nearly everyone I talk to in my club uses tri-tronics products and many have had their units for many years. Others I know have dt collars, dogtra collars and the new sport dog units. I haven't heard any complaints and actually some realy good comments about the sport dog 2400. I have dogtra quail launchers and they work excellent. My advice would be to go tri-tronics they are made in the good ole USA. I buy all my dog traing supplies at Lion County Supply.
