good luck blazer! hope you see some elk. i've hunted the hills for 20 some years. i live in n.e. pennsylvania but have traveled to dakota in search of the elusive whitetail. i have seen elk time and time again in the hills. was 80 yards from two 5x5's last year. lots of elk between piedmont and sturgis. see them from inter. 90 all the time. one of my best friends is from spearfish but lives in piedmont now. you might know each other. who knows. we also hunt st. onge area every year. i love s. dakota. it's my second home. some day i will live there. maybe then i could draw an elk tag? ha-ha!
