I tryed 1 .
Gave it back to the owner .
I have 2 problems with them.
1 We hunted in frezzing rain and the Nova froze up and would not work ,My 870 supermag in my freinds hands kept working ( I cleaned the nova before and oil freezing was not the problem).

2 If you ever break the stock how do you replace it ?
Its part of the reciever ,so do you need to buy a new gun??????????
A 870 stock takes just a few min to replace.
First, many things could have contriputed to why a gun carried by one person would freeze up and one carried by another wouldn't. There are just too many variables to say that the gun you carried froze because of the gun and not the way you were holding it or the driection of the wind or any number of other possabilities.

Second, the sinthetic stock of the nova cracking is much less likely, if not near impossable, compared to the likely hood of a wood stock of a remingtion, or any other wood stock for that matter, breaking. There is a reason the military has moved in the direction of synthetic stocks, they are durable and last!

Don't get me wrong. I think that Remington, Winchester, and Mossberg all make fine reliable shotguns. They are classics and proven, however, they are all disigns from 40-50 years ago. The nova is as fine a shot gun as any other and it's design is state of the art!
