Default RE: Barnes Triple Shock

I lucked out on the draw this past fall and got a tag to hunt wild bison in the Henry Mountains of southern Utah. I picked the Barnes Triple Shock 225 gr for my .338 Hawk for the hunt. I had been warned how tenacious and difficult to kill these 2000 lb critters are. I had heard horror stories about shooting these beasts 6 to 10 times before tipping them over. I shot my mature bull at 180 yards quartering away from me. The bullet entered behind the left front leg, destroyed both lungs, ventilated the aorta, and lodged in the skin in front of the right shoulder. The big bull ran 15 yards and collapsed. The recovered bullet weighed 224 gr and showed the classic 4 petal mushroom. I could not ask for better performance from a bullet. It also shoots more accurately in my rifle than the equivalent "X" without the rings. I'm sold on the bullet.
