As they say just my 2 cents - but I think 300 grain saboted bullet are a little heavy for any deer. They certainly would be effective. I use 300 grain bullets for elk but I do back down to 260 grain bullets for deer. Flatter longer and faster with plenty of energy for deer.

If you go down to a 44 caliber bullet you will get even better ballistics. PR tends to inflate their BC, BC is a coefficient of velocity and they tend to advertise the the BC out of the muzzle instead of the average over the range of reducing velocity. Again just my 2 cemts
