RE: Does Kinetic Energy = Penetration?
Wow Arthur what's going on? You were one of the last on the log throwing bandwagon!<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>.
No seriously, you have to do what works for you. No arguement there. Like I said, I have used carbons on and off for years, but always go back to the Aluminums. Last night I was practicing with them and had some great groups going with my 700 grain logs including broadheads. So I'll stick with them for another year.
Like I said though probably next year, I'll give the carbon tech rhino's a chance. But I don't look forward to pulling them out of 3-d targets.
And Arthur, what's this mechanical broadhead thing going on???!!!!
<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle> Are you going to get the pretty pink fletchings next???<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>
Seriously again, I know that mechanicals will kill, never argued that point. I used them one year like I've said and they were not for me. I'm the kind that gets phyched filing and honing my magnus broadheads the night before the hunt. <img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle> Especially a traditional hunt.
Let us know what you kill this season!
P.S. I never meant to sound like I was ever against carbons or mechanicals. Sometimes, though, I feel like I have to defend my position on why I don't use carbons, why I choose to use aluminums, why I use fixed bladed cut on contact heads, or why I choose heavy arrows over light. I hope everyone does well, whatever their setup is.
