Default RE: HoW many Decoys?

Well all I can say it depends. Depends on the time of season - early = more decoys, late = only one or maybe not at all and it is how the birds are reacting. Early maybe a Jake - maybe a Jake/hen breeding pair, late no Jake.

One thing for sure I own a flock - some given to me some bought.

Placement - really don't put them out in the open very much at all. I place that when I get that bird in, it is the 1st thing he sees and then I can shut-up and get ready for the shot. Am a right handed shooter so placement is always slightly to my left. Never in front of me for obvious safety reasons!

As I said before - I did have 3 Yahoos sneak my decoy spread. To me they where butterball hunters and should keep strictly to the Grocery store. hehe
