I had a gunsmith put mine and my sons' at 2.5 lbs, down from out-of-box weights of 6.5 to 7 lb. Instant 100% improvement on groups (half the size). These other post-ers are right, though; we could probably go 3 to 3.5 lbs and be as accurate with a bit more safety.
