I love big typicals.
There is something majestic about them.
It has to do with the fact that such a deer represents one of the best manifestations of what a Whitetail buck can be, given ideal genetics and environment. They are an example of how a whitetail should look.
Old, big typical deer are what I dream of shooting.
With that said, I'll shoot the first one that comes in range at the beginning of the season to put meat in the freezer, and I'd shoot a non-typical anytime except if it meant passing on a big typical.
