Shootem Up, pm me your addy and I'll send them. I'll pay postage.... someday when you're a famous trapper, you can pay me back in a coyote hide or two..
Good luck with the trapper's course and the beaver trapping.
Beaver trapping is tough.... the beaver's aren't too tough to catch (tho' occasionally they are). It's just tough work.
I trap beavers mostly with 330 bodygrippers. They're great traps, but any trap that can instantly kill a 70lb beaver is a dangerous tool. Never forget that and you should be okay. (I've managed to catch myself in 220's but have avoided the '330 club' so far... That's a club I don't want to join) I recommend the metal trap supports for the 330's. (if you're not familiar with these I can take a picture)
Snares work great for beavers too. They're safe to use and cheap too. Just remember to get 'IL legal' snares.
I've got a few footholds for beaver, but I usually trap beavers under the ice, so they don't get much use.
Catching a beaver is exciting... then you realize you have to skin it.... which is a whole 'nother thing to deal with.
Me with two beavers (and my puppy) taken this season. (you'll look tired after chopping holes in the ice and dragging beavers around too..)
