RE: Anyone own a Ruger 77/50?
Yes I do own one. I am the only person I know that has one too! I bought mine the second year they came out, 1998 I think. Mine is blued/ walnut.
Man do I love mine, I did however convert it to 209 with a kit from a company in France (I think). I do not use pellets, so with weighing every charge, I have found that my gun loves 80 gr of 777 with a 240 gr T/C bullet. I can shoot about 1.5" groups with it. I am so confident in my Ruger, that I would carry it over many of my rifles, and definalty over a shotgun. I have a Simmons Aetec 2.8-10 on mine, and am accurate out to about 150-175 yards, if something comes in my range, I dont miss with it. I cannot say enough good things about my 77/50 except that I wished I would have waited one more year until they brought out the stainless/ laminate, man thats a pretty gun.
