Used both and I prefer loose. Both will work but really depends on how much you shoot and how your combo performs. No doubt loose offers more in tweaking a specific load combo and is less costly to do so. For T7 users the loose offers more potentency than the same load of Pyrodex, however the pelletized form only offers the cleaning, less smoke and no smell benefits that T7 affords, as the pellets are diluted to match that of their pyrodex counterparts.

Pellets do have the ease of use going for them (especially in terms of field loading while hunting) and some may say constancy as well but that is often debated among seasoned shooters.[8D]
