That area of the state holds the largest population of deer in Iowa, and has the highest amount of record bucks of any county in Iowa. There is alot of timber there, mostly on the 500+ ft hills along the mississippi.

There are alot of farm familys that group hunt and I have seen some of the deer they shoot. The groups that are serious about it take alot of does and do not shoot anything typ under 150"
