I use a 300 win every year it is all in the bulets and the speed you push them. I shoot 150s for deer and 185s for elk. BUY a good bulet one that dose not fragment.I use corelocks. I destroy very little meatuntill i hut a big bone like the nee joint. then it expands bad. Make good shots deer drop on the spot at very long shots if you want to shoot them.I all so do not max load my shells this allso makes a big difrants.
If you shoot some kind of expantion bullet you are asking for blood shot deer.
A 300 win is just a 30 cal bullet that can be pushed faster than 3006.
