There supposedly is a nice elk herd in Kentucky. there should be 7,500 elk there by 2008. there arent many tags available now, but they say they will give around 1,500 once the population reaches the 7,500 mark
Yup, and Kentucky started its Elk program 3 years after Wisconsin .... and Wisconsin now has approximately, what, 140 elk? Currently, Kentucky has harvested more elk than Wisconsin has in the wild.
