Default RE: the most accurate cartridge

The chambering currently being used with the most success by 1000 yard benchrest shooters today is the 6.5/284.
I wonder if there isn't something to the dimensions of the .284 winchester case... I don't know about the accuracy potential of a .284 winchester rifle, in fact I've never seen one, but the 6.5/284 seems to be a big hit, and the 7.5x55 Swiss cartridge is a very accurate cartridge, (or maybe its just the rifles or a combination of both?) is pretty much the same case dimensions with a .308 bullet. (You make 7.5 Swiss brass by necking up a .284 case.)
