I have used both string and the D-loop. Both work fine. I am currently using the string loop and see no reason to change. I believe the D-loop would be easier to install and adjust for a full picture thru your peep. I had my string install by the pro shop at the time I bought my bow so they tinkered with it a bit and it works perfect. I believe it is a matter of personal preference.
