ORIGINAL: mauser06

im on my last few loads of 2fg goex black powder......this is my second pound in a year or so......i plan to shoot alot more this spring and summer...i just love this flintlock stuff.....so fun to play with and shoot.....but i was wondering if going to 3fg would be wise?? i can get ahold of either or......i was thinking.....the smaller the powder the faster it burns? so it would speed up my firing time??? i get a good time now......but maybe it could be better? its the only flinter ive shot....but its quick....had an expirienced flinter shoot it and he was impressed....and ive made it quicker since then.....whats more accurate? and whats more powerful? oh ya....im shooting a 50cal tc hawken flintlock........worth a try? would it have any negative results?? can it help me or hurt me?? thanx alot......just wondering guys.....this off season i want to spend alot of time working on a good load....and work all the bugs out.....and stick with it......thanx guys
Personally, I prefer Goex FFFg (3F)...I use it in .45/.50/.54cals with patched balls, both target and hunting loads...fast, clean, and accurate...and they're the calibers I shoot the most year round...50/60grns targets, 80/90grns hunting...outstanding.

I do use the FFg (2F) in the larger .58/.62cals, although the 3F would probably do fine there as well.
