john.....we NEVER cross land that we dont have permission on.....and its WAY harder then stand hunting....to drive deer from 10 or 11AM till dark every day makes for a long day....and planning drives that WORK takes more scouting and prep then stand hunting....we still have to scout.....and learn where the deer are at....and where they are going to head....and gutshot deer isnt a problem with us.....sure...once in a while someone hits one nonlethally and we dont find it....but having all them guys there will find deer that are down....and if they are wounded and dont go far we always bring em back around to finish them.....2 years now we lost 2 deer i think....both terrible hits...deer ran miles....and yes....WE STILL WAIT to track them...30 mins to an hour......then we take up the tracks and find the deer...its the shooter....more deer are lost by lone hunters.....we got alot of guys to cover the land and find the deer....and the deer usually do win...even though we try our hardest to get the deer....they are VERY smart animals...they do the unthinkable.....what deer in their right minds going to run across an open field in the middle of deer season instead of follwing the thick stuff to the standers?? we have toooooons of deer get out every day....its definently not as easy as it may sound....i once thought it was...and thought id never enjoy hunting like that till i tried it last year....im hooked.....i love it.....exciting way to hunt....and its the best way to see deer around here.....they are pressured hard....and becomre very nocternal....and the land is set up so the deer dont have to leave their beds to feed.....and sneaking in to their beds to stand hunt is next to impossible.....drives are the way to see deer here....to each his own...you dont like how i hunt it dont bother me....i was just looking to hear everyones opinions and see why....keep em coming.....just keep it friendly....we arent trying to start a fight or argument....be nice and hear what eachother had to say about it.....ill keep posting my responses...and im sure the rest of the people that like drives will...help you see the light....its not like we push out an acre of land with 20 guys and push out every deer and stand on the other end and mow them all down.....
