I'm shooting a 50. I've used it every year since 1979. My best groups are with 370 grain maxie balls and 90 grains of 2f powder out to 50 yds. I,ve tried round balls, sabots, and cones; and powder from 65 grains to 120 with all. over 50 yds I got better results with round balls and 100 grains of powder. My brother had three 50's 1 Hawken & 2 Renagades and we got different results with all 4 guns, though all seemed to do better with the maxie balls out to 50 yd, about the same with maxie & rounds to 75yd and better at 100 yd with the round. Try different loads and powders with them. With some guns it seems to vary a lot. I know a lot of people swear by the newer ammo but both my brother & I had trouble with plastic fouling in our TCs
