Where I live I don't have access to ranges with such short shooting distances, only 50, 100,and 200yd on public ranges owned by the state game commission. To set up a target at any other distance can result in a fine. You can walk your POI in like you said but I use the boresighter to make my adjustments that's where the time and ammo savings come in to it for me. If you don't want to use a boresighter then don't but I will continue to use mine.
