interesting weather phenomenon
Today I was up in my tree before light as usual. It was warm (about 34) with a southeasterly breeze at 3mph. An inch of snow covered the forest floor and there was nothing unusual... until the sun came up.
About 10min after the sky lit up, I started hearing rain drops. This puzzled me as none of them were hitting me. I then shift my attention from the deer trail to the trees. And there they were... thousands of water droplets clinging to the tips of branches throughout the entire forest. They looked like glimmering diamonds like berries on a tree. And as they hit the ground with such perfect rhythm and harmony, it was as if the forest was serenading me.
I just stood up in my stand with this divine sense of peace and awe. I couldn't figure how it was all happening so quickly though. I guess there was just so much moisture in the air, it all just accumulated to form thousands of dew droplets as soon as the sun came up completing the missing element for the phenomenon. I could see droplets forming and getting bigger and bigger right before my eyes til their weight released them from the branches. It was so moving and relaxing I didn't even feel like hunting anymore. The thought of hurting any part of that forest that was singing to me made me feel guilty.
Then came the 140 class buck. Nahhh, just kidding. Would've been nice though.
This ever happen to any of you?
