You probably have already made a decision, but I would bet you that Nikon would work real well. The 50 yard p-lax is really not a big deal with a ML. The power 1.4x4.5 might be a little short for me, although I used one for years, but it all depends on the conditions in which you hunt. Mountains, timber and brush - good scope. Wide open spaces farm fields you may want more...
