Default RE: turkey guns

A 10 gauge surely can kill turkeys no problem. The main issue I have concerning the 10 gauge, is the cost and recoil. Sure you can buy a single shot 10 gauge for not a lot of money, but that sucker will knock your socks off!! Then if you decide on a pump gun, they are very heavy to lug around in the woods all day comparing to a 12, and are a hard kicker as well!! So the only logical choice, if you want a 10 gauge, would be a semi-auto, but now the "COST" factor comes into play here. Ever price a Browning Gold in a 10 gauge, or a Remington SP-10? They will run you way over a $1,000.00 easy. The best advice I can give you, is get a Remington, Winchester, Mossberg, or an Ithaca 12 gauge in a pump model. Or, if you have more funds to play with, go with a good quality 12 gauge semi-auto. The 12 gauge shells are much cheaper than 10 gauge shells anyway!!
