I haved owned both and they are great bows. I like the Outback better. I really didn't notice any difference between speed and smoothness. The LX is longer and the Outback works better in a tree stand but I could deal with that. The really BIG difference, to me, was the brace height. I knew, after 20 years at this, not to buy a bow with a brace height under 7". I had problems when wearing heavy clothes of tapping the sleave and just couldn't deal with that issue so I sold the LX and got the Outback. I would defintely wait and shoot the Switchback before buying. I WILL NOT SHOOT THE SWITCHBACK FOR ANY REASON-NO WAY-NO WAY- NO WAY, WELL MAYBE JUST ONE SHOT!
