i used a .308 with a a silver nitrate bullet, bear dropped dead, my dad on the other hand used his mathews featherlight for both of his bears with a muzzy 100 grn tip, he had the same results

but we also have a .270 and i dont see that much of a difference between either gun, just shooting distances, but when it comes to guns the only thing i know about them is what i learned in gun safety, my expertise lies in archery.
