Hi El Gringo, Just for you, I have two wonderful German Shorthaired Pointers and am starting a third. I love the breed, wouldn't have another type of dog. But I am not a dove hunter and my dogs and the way they are trained would not serve your purpose. As much as I hate to say another breed would be better, but it would in your case. You might be a two breed man. A lab for dove & duck and GSP for some of the really cool covey birds down there. For what I do, upland birds, my GSPs are perfect.
