The main reason it didn't catch on is that is was created to kiss butt and stroke Jim Zumbos ego. it turned out to be a good caliber, but it doesnt fill any need. the gap between the 243 and 7mm-08 is small and you already have several very goo chamberings 257 roberts, 250 savage, to name two plus loads of lesser known cartridges6.5x55ect...then you've also got the more powerful but same calibers 25-06,270,some weatherbys ect...their was just no need or hole for it.
