Default PA Timber Industry, what the problem?

Just curious to everyone's thoughts. What is the guff with the timber industry in the state? PA has long been a major player in the countries timber market. I know a lot of what happens in the timber market as my family owns and operates a large timber and lumber company out of central PA. We for one realize that timbering does not hurt deer herds for a long period of time. This is unless it is clear cut, which on state gamelands doesn't happen often.

The regrowth that happens after a Select Cut of an area is enormously benificial to the health of not only the forest, but great undergrowth for deer to eat and hide.

So what is everyone's opinion on this timber industry lobbying that has everyone in an uproar?
