I used to own a .257wby and took deer,pronghorns,mountain goat and elk with it.A 100gr bullet can easily be pushed to 3500fps with good brass life.One thing I will caution you about is using 7mmwby brass to form 257wby brass.The necks will be thicker and can cause pressure problems as a result if you have a tight chamber.
