Being curious, I was wondering how did the Indians tan all of their hides with out the chemicals, ph, and all of that? Does anyone know how they used to do it? As a kid, I would skin rabbits and tack them on a board then sprinkle salt on them, then scrap it off, then work the pelt until it was soft. That is how my Dad taught me. Is that how the Indians used to do it?
